Under the direction of a clinical psychologist, the Psychological Tester administers psychological assessments to clients, scoring those assessments, and providing behavioral observations and feedback for the psychologist to analyze and interpret the results.
The primary work location will be in our Wausau, Wisconsin office.
Essential Functions:
Ensures that clients are seen in a timely manner.
Ability to quickly build rapport with clients.
Consistent and regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
Reviews information for timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security.
Administrative duties including, but not limited to ordering assessment supplies and tests, tracking inventory of the testing supplies, maintaining an organized assessment clinic environment.
Other job related duties as assigned.
Diagnostic Assessments:
Completes diagnostic evaluations by administering and scoring psychological tests and reporting on behavioral observations.
Close collaboration with the psychologist.
Test summary reports are completed within guidelines and according to policy.
Qualifications:
Education &
Experience:
A qualified psychological tester must hold a bachelor's degree, a master's degree or equivalent from a program in psychology, counseling, or human development.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Proficient in the use of personal computing equipment for the purposes of test scoring, report writing, and communication (i.
e.
, email and electronic health record).
Strong attention to detail.
Natural ability to interact with children.
Skilled in carefully observing children and young people and respond to what they might be communicating through their behavior and play.
Critical thinking skills, with strong analytical abilities.
Self-motivated, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Works cohesively within a team environment.
Strong client centered focus, with the desire to meet and exceed client expectations.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations.
